Brief History of the British Shorthair
In the 19th century British people decided to breed their own pure British breed by selecting the most beautiful cats and purposefully mating them to reproduce the best qualities and characteristics. The origin of the British shorthair breed starts from 1898 however the breed was given it’s official scientific name only in 1930.
Personality of the British Shorthair
British shorthairs are very calm and peaceful making them a great family friendly pet for any household. As kittens, these cats are very energetic and active but usually calm down by the age of one. They do not like being held much but they enjoy settling down nearby and having their belly rubbed.
About Us
We are a TICA-registered family cattery that breeds British shorthair cats near the city of Seattle in Washington. Our adult cats have been personally imported by us from Russia into a very comfortable home. We are working hard on expanding our litter with more varieties of colors.
